Furnace replacement and installation
Choosing a new furnace means choosing efficiency (80% or 95%+ AFUE), blower type, and venting. In Reno and Carson City, high-efficiency furnaces usually pay back. In Las Vegas, where heating use is low, many owners choose a heat pump or dual-fuel system instead.

Choosing a new furnace means choosing efficiency (80% or 95%+ AFUE), blower type, and venting. In cold northern climates high-efficiency furnaces usually pay back; in the mild South, many owners choose a heat pump or dual-fuel system instead.
A 95% furnace vents through PVC pipe and drains condensate, so the install may need a new vent path and a drain. An 80% furnace uses a metal flue. Replacing one with the other changes the venting.
